Sustainability at the Dolomit Homes & Hotel in La Villa
We love our country and attach great importance to environmental protection - climate house with solar cells, charging stations for electric vehicles, use of regional and natural products and much more
Our commitment to sustainable tourism:
Sustainability is our top priority. We want to provide our guests with a pleasant stay while also actively contributing to the preservation of our environment. Here are some of the measures we take to promote sustainable tourism:
Our facilities are built with wood, using insulating materials made from wood fibre and sheep's wool to minimize energy consumption and ensure natural and environmentally-friendly insulation. The untreated larch wood facade not only creates a rustic atmosphere but also allows for sustainable management of this renewable resource.
Our buildings are heated using biomass heating systems to reduce CO2 emissions and decrease our dependency on fossil fuels. Our outdoor pool is heated solely by solar panels.
In the Boutique Hotel, we have applied Grander Wasser filters to reduce the consumption of water and raise its quality. The water is now so pure and has such excellent organoleptic characteristics that it is absolutely preferable to water bought in plastic.
We have set up an electric charging point for all guests using electric vehicles. This helps to reduce our carbon footprint and encourage guests to choose more sustainable transportation options.
Restaurant La Tor has banned plastic from daily use, both in the kitchen and dining room. Straws, containers, and even takeaway containers have been replaced with compostable products. We have also increased the amount of products we buy from local suppliers and organic companies in the area.
We were the first, in 2018, to bring plogging to our facilities, guest culture, and on our trails. Plogging is an activity that combines running and walking with waste collection. We provide our guests with bags so they can collect litter they find while they are enjoying our facilities or exploring the trails in our area.
We aim to raise awareness among our guests about sustainability and encourage them to care for the environment during their stay. By working together responsibly, we can have a positive impact on nature and the community in our region.
How you can help
We hope that you will join us in our commitment to sustainable tourism. Here are some ways in which you can help:
Avoid plastic and other disposable items, and properly separate trash. If you see litter during your excursions or walks, please pick it up and dispose of it properly.
Turn off lights and electronic devices when you leave your room or apartment. Close windows when it is cold outside.
Use the water filters in the Boutique Hotel to reduce your water consumption. Drink tap water instead of bottled water.
Use public transportation or bicycles when possible. If you must drive, consider carpooling or using a hybrid or electric vehicle.
Buy local products and services whenever possible. This helps to support the local economy and reduce your carbon footprint.
Thank you for your cooperation! By working together, we can make a difference for our environment and the local community.
